A note about sugary treats: Treats and desserts made with ingredients compliant with the Autoimmune Protocol are wonderful and special! And we should treat them as such: special. A little something sweet to celebrate a momentous occasion, not an everyday occurrence. Why? Sugar is always sugar, even if it comes from fruit or unprocessed sweeteners like honey and maple syrup. And too much sugar doesn’t mix well with autoimmune disease in my experience. Sugar can raise the overall inflammation in your body and make your symptoms worse. So it is all right to enjoy a dessert once in a while, but consume with moderation!

Wow Sophie! You have been very busy! Thank you for putting this together for us. Also, Thank you for the reminder about the sugar! It is easy to get carried away when eating “healthy” sweets!
